Elizabeth “Liz” Weiner
Liz founded the Sundial Park Group to help established and emerging fund managers reach their fundraising goals, become exceptional stewards of capital, and to build enduring firms that are able to attract and retain investors. She has more than 20 years of experience in fundraising and investor relations advisory, project management, commercial real estate finance, and general management. Liz is the former Co-Founder and Managing Principal of the KAP Group which she helped grow to more than 50 clients who raised approximately $5 billion for private funds and joint ventures. Prior to founding KAP, Liz was with Real Estate Private Fund Group at Credit Suisse where she advised and prepared real estate managers through each stage of the capital raising process. Previously, Liz was the Head Underwriter for the Credit Suisse’s Small Balance Loan Program within its Real Estate Finance and Securitization Group. Prior to joining Credit Suisse, Liz held the roles of Senior Product Manager and Director of Business Development at DoubleClick by Google. Liz received a Masters of Business Administration from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and graduated from Barnard College of Columbia University with a Bachelor of Arts. She is a former board member of the Staenberg-Loup Jewish Community Center and remains active in the Denver community.
Maja has ten years of global capital markets experience working with institutional investors across multiple asset classes, including real estate private equity, fixed income and equities. Prior to joining Sundial Park Group, Maja was a Vice President in the Real Estate Private Fund Group at Credit Suisse. In her role at Credit Suisse, Maja advised and prepared real estate managers through each stage of the capital raising process, including real estate private fund, co-investment and secondary opportunities in the U.S. and Asia representing over $3.4 billion in equity raised. Previously, Maja worked at Lehman Brothers in Fixed Income Research as a credit strategist focused on the U.S. investment-grade corporate bond market. Prior to that, Maja worked at Goldman Sachs in Institutional Equity Sales where she marketed the firm’s European equity research and equity offerings to institutional investors. Maja earned a Master of Science in Real Estate Development from Columbia University and received the Hank Bell Entrepreneur Award. She graduated magna cum laude from Columbia College with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics.
Lauren’s industry experience spans sales, fundraising, marketing, investor relations, and CRM database construction. Over the course of her career, she has raised more than $350 million for hedge funds, covering various sectors and geographies. Prior to joining Sundial Park Group, Lauren was the head of business development for Brevet Capital Management (“Brevet”) where she was responsible for the firm’s marketing and fund raising strategies. Prior to Brevet, Lauren was Vice President at Ambata Services spearheading marketing and fundraising for the family office’s new initiatives. Lauren began her business development career at Millburn Ridgefield where, after starting in the marketing department creating fundraising materials and building a CRM database, she was promoted to the North American and European sales team. Before joining Millburn Ridgefield, Lauren was in sales and marketing at Sansar Capital, a pan-Asian Long/Short Equity Fund. Lauren holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Georgia.
Maryola has broad experience in private equity consulting, marketing, business operations, strategy, business development, and finance. Prior to working with Sundial Park Group, Maryola consulted with the KAP Group, assisting several private equity clients with their fundraising and investor relations objectives. Prior to KAP, she held a variety of roles at Dell, Inc., including supporting the Chairman and other senior executives through product launches and reorganizations. She also founded a consulting practice advising early stage companies seeking financing for growth. Maryola began her career on Wall Street as an analyst at Credit Suisse First Boston/DLJ. She received a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago Booth Graduate School of Business and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Business Administration.
Ms. Paretti is a seasoned commercial real estate finance executive with deep experience in origination, underwriting, credit, closing, servicing, asset management, marketing and investor reporting. She has successfully led numerous origination teams most recently as Senior Managing Director and Head of the Small Balance Commercial Real Estate Finance Group at Guggenheim Partners. In her prior role at Guggenheim Partners she served as the Chief Operating Officer for Guggenheim’s Commercial Real Estate Finance Group. In this role, Ms. Paretti oversaw all operational aspects of the business and constructed a fully integrated, multi-product commercial real estate lending platform that focused on life insurance, bridge, CMBS, and agency products. She also successfully led the integration of numerous acquisitions, the most recent of which was sold to SunTrust. She has 25 years of experience in the Small Balance Commercial Real Estate Finance sector. She was head of Credit Suisse’s Real Estate Finance and Securitization Group’s Small Balance Loan Program that originated and underwrote more than $3.6 billion of commercial real estate loans. Ms. Paretti also Co-headed Credit Suisse’s Health Care Group.
Mr. Alvarado has over 35 years of corporate experience with large financial institutions and extensive experience in creative strategy development, investment trending, organizational design, relationship management and tactical execution of complex investment programs. He is the former Group Head of Allstate’s Real Estate Equity Investments which he led from 2005 to 2016. He was responsible for Allstate’s shift to direct strategies and the deployment of more than $3 Bn of capital following the Global Financial Crisis which established Allstate as an innovator and preferred partner in real estate investments. Mr. Alvarado is also responsible for the creation and implementation of Allstate’s Emerging Manager program in both Real Estate and Private Equity. Mr. Alvarado has extensive Board experience working with private firms and national organizations. His experience includes being on Finance, Audit and Compensation Committees. Examples include Hometown America, Olson Housing, Concord Homes, IMPACT Community Capital, and numerous private ventures. Examples of Advisory Board positions include Westbrook Partners, Starwood Capital, Landmark Partners, Beacon Capital, and CBRE Global Investors. Mr. Alvarado served on the Pension Real Estate Association’s Board of Directors as Chair of the Institutional Investor Council; the Board of Advisors of the University of Wisconsin-Graaskamp Center for Real Estate; the Editorial Board of The Institutional Real Estate Letter; and is a member of the Pension Real Estate Association and National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the South Barrington Police Pension Trust and heads EA Advisory whose mission is to increase the participation of minority and women-owned firms in both Private Equity and Real Estate. Mr. Alvarado holds an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management and a BS in Finance from the University of Illinois.
